Making an Impact: Lindsay's Journey

Lindsay grew up in America’s Hometown, Plymouth, MA, where she walked on the beaches to collect shells and delighted in saying hi to people’s dogs along the way. She maintained from an early age that her life’s work would be to make a positive impact in the lives of animals. She connected with the community through volunteer and professional roles in both domestic and wildlife animal rescue and rehabilitation with animal shelters and nonprofit agencies (ASPCA, International Fund for Animal Welfare, and Whale and Dolphin Conservation to name a few!)

She went on to earn her B.S. in biology and Masters of Science in Emergency Management, with continuing education and teaching certifications through Bridgewater State University, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and Quincy College. With an appreciation for those that don’t have their own voice, Lindsay dove into a dual career as a veterinary technician and a marine biologist. Spending time with whales off the coast of Massachusetts and helping people with their pets when she wasn’t on the water was the perfect way to achieve her goals and make the impact she was looking for.

Over two decades, and with a knowledge base and skill set supported by some of the region’s best veterinarians, animal specialists and advocates, Lindsay worked as a vet assistant, then department supervisor, and ultimately a practice manager at a well known veterinary hospital on Cape Cod. During her clinical time, Lindsay noticed that there was a limit to the reach for certain animals, namely the mobility challenged, and fearful and anxious pets. During the COVID shutdown, this became more evident as clinics and grooming salons no longer had space for short services like nail trims, or time to have as much patience and detail orientation that supported these kinds of pets. The Hometown Vet Tech was born from this, offering gentle mobile services that could be performed by a vet technician in home, and if needed, with a plan in place from the overseeing veterinarian. Based in Plymouth, Lindsay sees pets from midCape to Cohasset, all along the South Shore!
